• How would a merger affect our safety forces?
• What affect would merger have on our response time or mutual aid agreements?
Municipal Services
• Would
my water rates change?
• Would my garbage collection charge be eliminated?
• What about things like snow removal and leaf collection?
• Would we get additional municipal services? Senior services? Recreational
services?
• Would we save on infrastructure and road maintenance costs?
Government Structure and Fiscal Responsibility
• What
form of government would work best for the newly-formed community?
• How would a charter and city ordinances be established?
• What is the expected timeframe for a new government after a merger?
• What is the cost per capita of our current and future government?
• Would I have to pay R.I.T.A./municipal income tax?
• How much debt would each community bring to the merger?
• Would merging make us a stronger, more fiscally fit community?
• Are we currently under or over-staffed for our population and size?
Economic Growth and Planning
• Would
a merged community give us a stronger voice in county, state, and federal
government?
• Would a merged community give us a better opportunity for grants and
stimulus dollars?
• What would happen to my property values?
• How would zoning and land use be affected? Would a new master plan be
needed?
• How would a merger affect our local school district?
